Debra Eckersley appointed as new BOQ Group Executive,
People and Culture

BOQ today announced the appointment of Debra Eckersley as Group Executive, People and Culture.
Ms Eckersley joins the Bank from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she has spent the past 24 years working in a number of roles including leading their Human Capital function to enable the delivery of PwC Australia’s business priorities and consulting to many of Australia’s leading organisations.
Jon Sutton, CEO and Managing Director, BOQ said he was delighted with the appointment of Ms Eckersley, “BOQ is fortunate to welcome Debra to the team. She is one of Australia’s leading HR and change executives and brings with her extensive experience working on complex people and change challenges as well as her significant strategic and employee engagement knowledge,” he said.
“Debra’s appointment will ensure that BOQ continues its strong focus on the engagement and development of our people and culture in order to optimise service for our customers.”
Ms Eckersley has a Bachelor of Commerce with a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance. She has also studied Strategic Human Resources at Cornell University (USA) and is a Board member of UN Women National Committee Australia and is a champion for women’s empowerment and gender equality.
Ms Eckersley will commence her new role with BOQ on 3 September 2018.
