BOQ Assists Bushfire Victims in Victoria

Monday, 09/02/2009

Bank of Queensland today announced it will be supporting the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

BOQ Managing Director David Liddy said the Bank would be accepting donations in BOQ branches around the country for the appeal to assist those impacted by the devastating fires.

“All of our branches will be accepting donations for the victims of the fires, which will go to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

“We are also offering hardship assistance to any BOQ customers who have been impacted by the fires.

“I encourage any BOQ customer experiencing financial difficulty as a result of the fires to contact their nearest BOQ branch to discuss how we can help out.  Our hardship provisions offer a range of alternatives to help relieve some of the financial burden during this terrible time.

“BOQ branches will also be cashing Victorian Department of Human Service (DHS) cheques for any bushfire victims in our BOQ branches around the country, to provide some immediate relief to the victims of this devastating tragedy.”
