Local Junior Soccer Team Gets Kick-start From BOQ Armadale

A local junior soccer team at Malvern City Football Club is off to a great start this season after Bank of Queensland Armadale recently signed on as their new sponsor.

BOQ Armadale Owner-Manager Darren Rogers and his branch have committed $2500 to sponsor Malvern City FC’s Under-11 soccer team for the next year.

Darren said his branch is proud to be a sponsor of the Under-11 soccer team and give the kids a great kick-start towards becoming soccer stars of the future.

“My branch’s sponsorship will provide the team with new sports gear, caps and water bottles on the field and go towards their coaching and soccer equipment for the 2009 season,” Darren said.

“We’re also giving each player their own BOQ WebSavings Account with a $25 starting deposit to introduce them to banking and encourage them to begin saving from a young age.

“Since buying the BOQ Armadale branch over four years ago, we’ve had a lot of support from the local community and this is our way of giving something back to the community in which we operate. Plus, my team here really enjoys getting involved in community initiatives and helping to make a difference.

“We chose to get behind Malvern City FC because they do a fantastic job at giving kids the opportunity to learn soccer and develop their skills, while making friends in a fun and friendly environment.

“And like us at my Armadale branch, the team are keen to be successful and enjoy what they do at the same time!”

Malvern City FC representative and Under-11 team coach Andrew Vaharakis said he and the kids in the team are very excited to have BOQ Armadale onboard as their new sponsor.

“Our Under 11-soccer team, like other teams at the club, depend on community support for our future growth and we really value the support of a strong partner like Bank of Queensland,” Andrew said.

“We’d like to express our gratitude to Darren and his team at BOQ Armadale and are looking forward to a fantastic season of soccer ahead.”
