BOQ South Melbourne Helps Aussie Kids to Shine

Bank of Queensland South Melbourne has offered to help Aussie kids in need by making a donation to Oz Child each time they approve a home loan for the charity’s staff, volunteers and members.

BOQ South Melbourne Owner-Manager Elizabeth Amendolia said her branch recently signed an agreement with the charity to donate $250 from every approved home loan for Oz Child’s staff, volunteers, board members, contractors, Oz Child Unite partners and their employees.

“We’re really excited about our new initiative with Oz Child which will go a long way towards raising much-needed funds for disadvantaged kids in Australia,” Elizabeth said.

“BOQ South Melbourne has been a proud supporter of Oz Child for a year now, with our Manager Norm Davidson and the team at the branch getting right behind the cause.

“Each fortnight, our staff donates a number of gold coins to contribute to the charity’s work and we have also become a partner of Oz Child Unite to further support their goals.

“And now, the team here will be working extra hard at home lending in order to raise as many $250 donations as they can!

“We’ve always been really impressed by Oz Child and the amazing things they do to improve the quality of life and future opportunities for disadvantaged children in Australia.

“The values they demonstrate are the very same values that we try to live here at BOQ South Melbourne; passion, integrity, achievement, courage and teamwork.

“Our partnership is a great result for Oz Child and a great result for us, because we get to be involved with an important charity and make a difference to the lives of Aussie kids,” she said.

Oz Child CEO Tony Pitman said it was people like the team at BOQ’s South Melbourne branch who helped Oz Child improve the quality of care, life opportunities and status of children.

“It’s people like Elizabeth and her team who really understand what community organisations like Oz Child are all about.

“Oz Child relies on the generous support of business partners to exist, so we really value having a strong partner like Bank of Queensland behind us.

“We’re really excited about our new home loan initiative with BOQ South Melbourne and would like to thank them for their continued support,” Tony said.
