BOQ Managing Director Named “Financial Services Executive of the Year”

Bank of Queensland Managing Director and CEO, David Liddy has been named Australia’s Financial Services Executive of the Year by Australian Banking & Finance Magazine. 

The announcement was made last night at the 19th annual Australian Banking and Finance awards in Sydney. 

In accepting the award, Mr Liddy said he was very proud to be recognised as the Financial Services Executive of the Year in what has been an extremely challenging year. 

“I believe the challenging economic environment has shown the strength of Bank of Queensland and that we are a real alternative to the major banks,” Mr Liddy said.  

“This award really belongs to our fantastic team of employees who have worked extremely hard and remained dedicated and focused on the job at hand during these difficult times. 

“They have shown great dedication and adaptability over the past twelve months and the ongoing success of our strategy at BOQ is down to them.”   

The Financial Services Executive of the Year award was judged by an expert panel consisting of Ben Zucker Macquarie Bank, David Willis ex HBOS Australia, John Loebenstein, ex St.George Bank, Dr.Martin Fahy Finsia and Mike Codling PricewaterhouseCoopers. 

Australian Banking and Finance is a well-regarded finance magazine and the annual awards offer the opportunity to celebrate the excellence on offer in banking and finance in Australia.
