BOQ Managing Director Hosts Birthday Lunch for Erina

Wednesday, 29/07/2009

Bank of Queensland Erina celebrated its third birthday this month and Managing Director David Liddy hosted a lunch for Owner-Manager Stewart Gall and his team at The Golden Cowrie Restaurant on 29 July.

In addressing the BOQ Erina team and their twenty customers at the lunch, David said it was Owner-Managers like Stewart who had helped BOQ develop the reputation for excellence in customer service it enjoys today.

“We are fortunate to have bankers like Stewart, who has developed strong relationships with the local community and really demonstrates just how different banking can be,” said David.

“As an Owner-Manager, Stewart has really gone that extra mile for his customers and I think his success to date has shown how popular that approach has been!”

When he bought the branch three years ago, Stewart, whose family have been residents of the Central Coast for over 15 years, made a promise to give the community a unique local banking service and said he is proud to say he’s kept that promise.

“It’s been an exciting three years for us here at our branch, working with  the local residents and businesses and being able to offer them better banking services to meet their needs,” Stewart said.

“We like to think that our branch is playing a major part in the ongoing development of Erina by offering real, personalised service and competitive banking products for customers in the area.

“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our customers about how much they value the return of friendly, face-to-face banking at our branch.

“It really is a different experience when you can truly look after your customers’ needs – you have so much more control but also more responsibility than as a corporate branch manager.”

Stewart is also an active member of the local community and through his branch is a sponsor of the Central Coast Basketball Junior Referees Traineeship program as well as The Portrait Prize, which is a charity event organised to support Coast shelter. He is also a member of NSW business chamber and Erina Chamber of commerce.

Stewart, who has an impressive 41 years’ of banking experience, is assisted at the branch by his daughter, Branch Manager Belinda Skepper, Business Development Manager Anne Bishop, Loans Manager Janine Crowe and Customer Service Officers Gail Starr, Leanne Nolan, Carolyn Kennedy and Bev Gall.

“We would like to thank the local community for their support so far and look forward to the future at BOQ Erina,” Stewart said.
