Everyday Payments Made Easier for BOQ and Virgin Money Customers

BOQ and Virgin Money today launched a new partnership with Samsung Electronics Australia that provides its customers with access to make secure, in-store payments through Samsung Pay.
From today, BOQ and Virgin Money credit card customers with a compatible Samsung device can access the secure and easy-to-use mobile payments service, enabling more convenient retail purchases through payment terminals using Near Field Communication (NFC).
Matt Baxby Group Executive BOQ Retail Banking said the decision to adopt the contactless payment method was reflective of the company’s commitment to provide customers across the BOQ Group with choice in how they conduct their banking and flexibility when making in-store purchases.
“Smart phones have become an essential part of our lives and by partnering with Samsung Pay, BOQ customers now have more options in how they make secure tap and pay purchases, which improves their overall experience,” Mr Baxby said.
Virgin Money CEO, Greg Boyle said the security and functionality of Samsung Pay will resonate with customers.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for flexibility and convenience. They want to know when they pay it’s going to be simple and easy as well as safe and secure. Samsung Pay lets our customer do all of this simply by using their phone, which they take with them everywhere.” Mr Boyle said.

In addition to an improved payment experience, BOQ and Virgin Money customers will also benefit from Samsung Pay’s unique loyalty feature which allows for almost any loyalty card to be stored and used via a Samsung device. Samsung Pay is paired with over 40 payment card brands and has over 100 different types of loyalty cards pre-loaded, helping to make everyday payments and loyalty point collections simple and secure.
