Friday, 29/01/2016

Belinda Jefferys this week commenced as BOQ’s Group Executive People and Communications.

BOQ CEO and Managing Director Jon Sutton said the creation of the new Group Executive level position reflected the increasing emphasis BOQ was placing on people and culture.

“Industry dynamics are changing rapidly and we need to ensure we have the right skills, structure and culture to delivery our strategy,” he said.

“Belinda will be an invaluable asset to BOQ’s Group Executive team, and brings with her extensive experience in managing human resources and communication functions for a range of listed companies.”

Prior to BOQ, Ms Jefferys was the General Manager for People, Culture and Brand at Elders Limited from 2011.

In this role Ms Jefferys was part of Elders’ Executive Team reporting to the CEO and was responsible for the human resources, marketing and communications functions.

She was an integral part of the team that turned around Elders’ performance and is credited with bringing about a cultural shift in the company’s diversity approach.

Prior to Elders, Ms Jefferys was Chief Executive Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at Bankwest.

She managed the separation of these functions from HBOS Australia when Bankwest was sold to Commonwealth Bank, successfully engaging Bankwest around a new vision, values and strategic priorities.

Ms Jeffreys has also held a variety of human resource roles at Westpac.
