Tuesday, 22/02/2011

BOQ is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Tredenick as a non-executive Director.

Ms Tredenick has more than 25 years’ experience in the banking, insurance and wealth management industries across Australia and New Zealand.

She has held senior executive roles and been a member of the Executive Committee for National Australia Bank, MLC and Suncorp as well as serving as an Executive Director for NAB and MLC companies. During her career, she has had various roles as chief information officer, head of strategy as well as line responsibility for corporate superannuation, insurance and wealth management businesses.

BOQ’s Chairman Mr Neil Summerson said that Ms Tredenick’s skill set would complement that of the Board.

“Ms Tredenick brings not only extensive banking and finance experience, but also a deep understanding of regulatory and corporate governance environments, experience in mergers and acquisitions, and extensive experience in corporate strategy development and execution,” said Mr Summerson.

“She will be a real asset to the BOQ Board.”

Ms Tredenick said she was looking forward to helping cement BOQ’s position as a genuine competitor to the big four banks.

“I see real opportunities for BOQ given the focus on competition in the banking sector and the public’s disenchantment with the big banks and think BOQ is a real alternative to the majors,” said Ms Tredenick.

“I’m delighted to join the BOQ board and look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

Ms Tredenick is an independent Director and her directorship duties at the Bank will begin effective immediately.
