BOQ Ready to do Deals at Brisbane Truck Show

Friday, 11/03/2011

BOQ has confirmed its commitment to the commercial vehicle industry by becoming the Gold Partner of the 2011 Brisbane Truck Show.

In announcing the sponsorship, BOQ’s Chief Operating Officer, Ram Kangatharan, said: “BOQ is thrilled to be a part of the 2011 Brisbane Truck Show, which looks like being the best show yet.

“Over the past few years, the show has grown significantly and in 2011 will move to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, so it’s going to be huge.

“I’m told sales orders taken during the four days of the 2009 show reached $AU400 million dollars – this is really big business!”

Mr Kangatharan said BOQ was looking forward to helping arrange finance, on the spot, for attendees who wanted to purchase equipment at the show.

“We are going to have a specialist Equipment Finance team on site offering visitors and exhibitors exclusive rate discounts, so they can do the deal right there at the show.

“We’d encourage any visitors and exhibitors to drop by the BOQ booth – trust me, you won’t be able to miss it – and see what deals we can do for you right then and there.”

Mr Kangatharan said he saw real synergies between the huge growth seen by both the transport industry and Bank of Queensland.

“BOQ’s equipment finance capability continues to see huge growth based on a really competitive product, combined with our focus on personal customer service.

“The transport industry is a major force in Queensland’s economy and I believe that, as the Bank for Queenslanders with a strong EF capability, there is a real opportunity for us to become the ‘go-to’ bank when transport companies are looking for equipment finance.

“Just as transport is a cornerstone of pretty much every industry, so is finance, and we think there is more we can do to get behind this crucial growth area.

“We were one of the very few equipment finance providers to support our customers throughout the GFC, which gives us a lot of credibility in this sector.”

The Brisbane Truck Show is run by the CVIAQ, the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland, which is the peak body, non-profit industry association representing members involved in the manufacture, distribution, sale, service and repair of commercial vehicles.

The CVIAQ represents over 170 member organisations across Queensland and these members are the cornerstone of the association and include many of the major exhibitors at each biennial truck show.
